The Elektra Hotel is a hotel that exists within the universe of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Little is known about the hotel, aside from its name and the fact it has a phone booth outside. An associate of Lemony Snicket is known to have left a waterproof box for his Kind Editor; as it is waterproof, it is possible that the Elektra Hotel is near a damp location.
Inside the box was a manuscript of The Reptile Room, a map of Lousy Lane, a copy of the film Zombies in the Snow, Monty Montgomery's recipe for coconut cordial, and a photograph of Dr. Lucafont, the latter of which to be given to Brett Helquist. The Editor was to retrieve these items before midnight to avoid them falling into "the wrong hands."
- Elektra is a Greek name, meaning "amber," as well as "shining, incandescent."
- The name was given to a major character in greek mythology (also spelled Electra), who is central to two greek tragedies bearing her name. Her story has been adapted into several famous plays, operas and films.
