Evelyn is the aunt of Count Olaf, mentioned in the Netflix adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Biography[]
Little is known about Evelyn; when Count Olaf delivers a "last meal" to Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire, he says that the water is served with what Evelyn liked to call "a handful of dust."[1] She is named after Evelyn Waugh, a male British author who wrote A Handful of Dust.
Evelyn's relation to Olaf is currently unknown; she could be the sibling of either his father or mother, but it is never stated she is related to either. It is also possible that Evelyn might not be related to Olaf at all, and that "aunt" is a courtesy title that Olaf gave her out of affection.
