You can't lock up the barn after the horses are gone.

— Favorite Saying.[1]

Gina-Sue is a minor character mentioned in The Wide Window.

History[]

She is a friend of Lemony Snicket, and a socialite. She has a favorite saying, which is "you can't lock up the barn after the horses are gone," meaning that sometimes even the best of plans will occur to you when it is too late.[1]

Though she is not mentioned by name in the Netflix Adaptation, Lemony quotes the line, and then says it was from a woman who meant a great deal to him, "before she was trampled by horses."[2]It is unknown if she is also dead in the books.
