He is also the protagonist of a biography mentioned in Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography. The Unauthorized Autobiography contains an excerpt from Lachrymose's story entitled "Ivan Lachrymose has a Snack", which describes in absurd detail, Lachrymose's search through his kitchen in search for a snack.
