He is also the protagonist of a biography mentioned in the [[Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography|Unauthorized Autobiography]]. The Unauthorized Autobiography contains an excerpt from Lachrymose's story entitled "Ivan Lachrymose has a Snack", which describes, in absurd detail, Lachrymose's search through his kitchen in search for a snack. It is as stated in The Unauthorized Biography, he once was a member of the villanous side of V.F.D when he was alive. It is also possible he was alive before the Schism, as he was probably part of Anwhistle Aquatics because he discovered Lake Lachrymose's exotic and deadly leech species. He could have got thick headed with fame and decided there were greener pastures where the Villanous V.F.D was involved, he loved to hoard money and knowledge.
