Justice Strauss' house first appears in The Bad Beginning. It is situated in the city, on the opposite side of the street from Count Olaf's house.[1] The house boasts well-cleaned bricks and many well-groomed plants; a stark contrast to Olaf's dirty, dilapidated house.

The house features a library where the Baudelaires find a cook book for puttanesca sauce and where Klaus finds a book on nuptial laws, which helps him discover Olaf's plan to marry Violet.[2]

Due to Justice Strauss's unknown fate in the Hotel Denouement fire, it is unknown of the fate of the house as well.
