Justice Strauss's house first appears in The Bad Beginning. It is situated in the city, on the opposite side of the street from Count Olaf's House. The house features a library where the Baudelaires find a cook book for puttanesca sauce and where Klaus finds a book on nuptial laws, which helps him discover Olaf's plan to marry Violet. It is also featured in the film adaption although the interior is never shown as the Baudelaires never enter the house, unlike in the first book.
