Yes, I have a question. Where are these children going to live? It may take a village to raise a child, but I don't want noisy children cluttering up my home.

— Mr. Lesko when chosen to ask a question by the Council of Elders.

Mr. Lesko is an antagonistic citizen of the Village of Fowl Devotees along with Mrs. Morrow.

The Vile Village

He is very rude towards the Baudelaire orphans and Hector when they wash his windows.

Following the murder of Jacques Snicket (who was mistaken for Count Olaf), Mr. Lesko demands that the Baudelaires, who are innocent, be burned at the stake for the crime after Count Olaf in the alias of Detective Dupin accuses them of the crime. He was present when Esmé Squalor in the alias of Officer Luciana used a harpoon gun in violation of the "no mechanical devices" rule and when Count Olaf's identity was exposed. In addition, he does know about motorcycle safety when Detective Dupin shows up on a motorcycle not wearing a helmet. After Count Olaf gets away after it was discovered that Officer Luciana injured a crow, Mr. Lesko and the villagers get the injured crow to the veterinarian before they can resume their plans to burn the Baudelaires at the stake. This gave the Baudelaires the opportunity to get away.

The Penultimate Peril

He returns in The Penultimate Peril where he is seen in the lobby of the Hotel Denouement with Mrs. Morrow following Dewey Denouement's death. When Mrs. Morrow claims that Count Olaf was "murdered" by the Baudelaires in her village, Mr. Lesko thought that the man who was killed in their village was "Count Omar." During the trial of the Baudelaires and Count Olaf, he hands in rulebooks for evidence. When the Hotel Denouement Fire was started, Mr. Lesko was seen on one of the floors arguing with Mrs. Morrow. He does not know anything about the organization V.F.D.

Behind the scenes

He is portrayed by Kevin Chamberlin in the TV series.
