The Orphans Shack is a small tin shack on the grounds of Prufrock Preparatory School. The name was invented by Carmelita Spats, and Vice Principal Nero liked it so much that it became the name.
Duncan and Isadora Quagmire slept in this shack until the Baudelaires arrived. The Quagmires were then "upgraded" to a broom closet.
The Orphans Shack was knocked down by Count Olaf during his escape in the TV series.
Description[]
Bales of hay serve as beds, tiny crabs scurry around the floor, the wallpaper is horrible, with hearts arranged in an unappealing pattern, and orange fungus (green in the TV series) oozes from the ceiling. In the TV series, the wallpaper is absent.
