"The Hostile Hospital: Part One" "The Carnivorous Carnival: Part One"

"The Hostile Hospital: Part Two" is the sixteenth episode of Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events. It covered the second half of The Hostile Hospital.

Official synopsis

A bearded Klaus and Sunny comb the hospital's crumbling halls for Violet, who's being held prisoner under Count Olaf's questionable "care."

Plot

Count Olaf in the alias of Mattathias Medicalschool and Esmé Squalor hide Violet Baudelaire as a patient in Heimlich Hospital under a false name and warn the rest of the hospital to watch out for Klaus and Sunny, identifying them as murderers.

Meanwhile, Hal is devastated that the Library of Records is a mess. Babs is also held hostage. Olaf threatens to torture Violet and when he leaves, she escapes using a scalpel and frees Babs, but her nervous laughing gets them caught and they are tied down again by Olaf's troupe.

  • When Violet took the tape back on Babs' mouth, the tape goes from in her mouth to on it, when she takes it off again.

Deviations from the novel

  • In the TV series, Babs' survival is explicit. In the book, Count Olaf, as the new Head of Human Resources "Mattathias", claims Babs has resigned from Heimlich Hospital because she decided to pursue a career as a stuntwoman, and has begun throwing herself off buildings immediately, implying he killed her.
