The Reptile Room was a large herpetological conservatory located inside Monty Montgomery's House. It was where the esteemed doctor kept his reptile collection and research over the course of his career as a herpetologist up until his death. Eventually, the sunroom, along with the rest of the mansion, was burned to the ground due to a torch thrown through a window. It is the library featured in The Reptile Room.
Description[]
The Reptile Room can be accessed by opening an enormously tall wooden door with creaky hinges in addition to a doorknob in the middle of it. It is so high above the grounds that even adults have to stand on the tip of their toes to reach it.
The room is made entirely out of glass, with clear walls and a high ceiling that rises like a cathedral. There is also a table that contain ropes, gears and cages to be repaired and studied. Those that are clean and functioning properly are where bizarre yet exotic reptiles are kept.[2]
Reptile Collection[]
Four rows of wooden tables have securely fastened metal cages placed on them. These contain the specimen that Dr. Montgomery studies frequently. At the end of these table is the Incredibly Deadly Viper's cage, kept under a tarp to induce fear and suspense; possibly to encourage the snake's misnomer.

At the far end of the room are several rows of bookshelves, stuffed with books, and with a cluster of tables, chairs and reading lamps in one corner. Several of the books are related to VFD, and thus guarded by some of the reptiles in Montgomery's collection.
