• Hi there!

I've got two questions for you. First, I notice on some pages templates exist (like the divergent canon, better name, etc.) that include images and funny little boxes, though nothing is apparent to account for this in the Wikisource code. When I try to write a similar template (right now its one that denotes canon unrecognized in the original book series on another wiki), I get left aligned text. I saw on a discussion post that you created a template with the nice formatting. Could you explain how it works?

Second, where do these badges come from? I'm not particularly interested in adding them to the wiki I'm working on now, but I am curious. I can only assume they exist in the website's source code. If you could shed some light on either of these topics, I would be most grateful.

    I eagerly await your response.

    • Gonna answer the second question first - I don't know anything about the badges really. They were set up before I got here so I don't know how they work.

As forr the first, for the Notice boxes (such as NetflixCanon and NonCanon), you'll want to copypaste a lot of code- I unfortunately can't type a lot of it here without boxes just appearing in this comment, but I definitely suggest finding the templates you want and then finding their source code and copy-pasting what you need. What's very important is the includeonly and noinclude coding, as if you want to include a description in the template page, you don't want that to appear on every page the template does!

    • Thanks!

I think I've figured out the Wikisource version of CSS, so that's cool. I'm wondering about templates like these:

This topic might have a better name.

But the editor who placed this tag here didn't say why.

      Talk about it here.

      With all due respect.

    • This one's {{Rename}}.

    • You should easily be able to copy the code from that template and change the text. the #XXXXXX will symbolize the hex codes of colors, so you can change those.

    • That's what I thought, too. When I try copying in directly and including an example of the template within the <noinlcude> tags, I get this

      Immediately after copying.

It's just the same when I try it any other way. The formatting disappears.

    • Are there other templates included in the code you have not copied? When I was adding templates to Greystone Secrets wiki I noticed that was a problem- you have to make sure all included templates are coded on the wiki.

    • The only template that I don't have is the {{cat}}, and I daresay that's not integral to the workings of the template. Everything else is HTML with the exception of a parameter, included in the template's code. I have no idea why this isn't working.

    • Hmm. I'm not sure... maybe your wiki style has different templates?
