"Verisimilitude" is the twenty-second on the soundtrack of Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Usage[]

Count Olaf details his plan to marry Violet Baudelaire in order to gain access to the Baudelaire Fortune. Violet and Klaus plead for him to release their sister, and he tells the children that they cannot always get what they want in life.

The word "verisimilitude" is a rare french word, meaning "the appearance of being true or real; likeness or resemblance to truth, reality, or fact."[1] This could be referencing Olaf showing his true colors and vengeance-driven personality to the Baudelaires, while announcing his plan, or it could be an ironic mention to the fact that the play, which only appears to be fake, is truly real and legally binding.
