"Walking My Gargoyle" is the fourteenth track and first bonus track on The Tragic Treasury, performed by The Gothic Archies. It was originally composed to coincide with the book The Carnivorous Carnival, but was ultimately replaced by "Freakshow."

Lyrics[]

Regal and royal, we walk down the street
A spring in our feet, whistling a tune
Hey there, little moon, how's Mr. Sun?
I meet everyone, walking my gargoyle
Loving and loyal, he's my best friend
Folks can't comprehend the fact that he talks
Vultures and hawks turn white as doves
Cause everyone loves my little gargoyle
I found him on a church
He helps with my research
People recoil when they see me
Obviously, I'm pretty extreme
Most people scream most of the time
But always when I'm walking my gargoyle
Puddles may boil when we go by
My gargoyle and I, happy again
Beautiful men? Yes, without fail
I'm wagging my tails, walking my gargoyle
Wagging my tails, walking my gargoyle

Trivia[]

  • The song utilizes a twist to make the ending more shocking or hilarious, depending on the listener's point of view. As the singer describes walking his gargoyle, he mentions people cowering in fear, which the listener assumes is due to his unusual pet; however, at the end of the song, the singer describes himself as having multiple tails, revealing that he himself is inhuman, and people are likely running from him just as much as his gargoyle.
    • Adding to this, the line "Hey there, little moon, how's Mr. Sun?" implies that the narrator is only walking his pet at night, as he only sees the moon.
